Results Mold Round

Debut team Hereford Vs Glasgow at Glyndwr University, Wrexham

This past Sunday (26th January), saw the Mold W7 round of UKW7 League. The day started with the sad news of the passing of Mold W7 player, Mike Griffiths (age 31). All teams at the round, paid respect with a minutes silence across both courts of Glyndwr University, Sports Hall.

The event was a first for the UKW7 league, as it had two courts running side by side with 5 teams attending the one venue. The round saw 10 games of 40 mins take place (20 min halves).

Leyland Warriors, won the 2nd round of the UKW7 league, remaining undefeated in all games played in the first two rounds of the UKW7 league. Leyland, won all games, but 1 by triple digits.

Mold W7 won all but one game of the round, losing only to Leyland in a tough and feisty battle.

Glasgow Panthers, won 2 and lost 2 of the round, playing some great team rugby, with consistent drop conversions from Dylan King.

Ebbw Vale, won their first ever game in their debut season in the UKW7 league. Huge congratulations to them all and Lee Sergant for scoring in his debut against Mold.

Hereford Harriers, unfortunately didn’t register a win on the day, but had a great outing for a team that has only been playing W7 for around 2 months. They had two very spirited matches with only a small squad and really close battle with Ebbw Vale, that came down to 3 points.

Most Valuable Players for each team during the round are as followed:

  • Glasgow Panthers – Kieran Devine
  • Hereford Harriers – Marcus Powell
  • Leyland Warriors – Declan Roberts
  • Mold W7 – Daniel Clarke
