Passing of Mike Griffiths

On Saturday 25th January 2020, Mold W7 lost one of there teammates and family.
Mike Griffiths, was one of Molds most competitive players.
Mike (31 years old) started playing Wheelchair Sevens Rugby Union, just over 2 years ago.
In that short time Mike had become a regular starting 7 player for Wheelchair Sevens team. Mike, also began to take part in Wheelchair Rugby League with North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Club.
Mike regularly scored on average a try a game in both codes, either because of his speed down the wing or from a perfect catch off a high cross field kick.
Mike represented Wales W7 on one occasion in exhibition event in Kent, scoring in this contest. He also in the last 6 months began attending Wales Wheelchair Rugby League training camps and was improving at each camp.
“Mike, will be greatly missed by us all at the Mold W7 and Wales W7.
Player Coach, Stuart Williams
His passion for perfection and grit, made him a great teammate and player to coach.
We all will miss our teammate, friend and family member. Rest easy Mike.”
We would like to thank all teams that took part at the Mold round on Sunday, for paying respects during the minute silence.
A special thank you goes to Liz (Wife of Mike) for coming to the event to speak to all taking part, and thanking our sport for making Mike happy.
UKW7, all the nations and clubs, would like to send our condolences and thoughts to the Griffith’s family and friends.
